Bb. Pilipinas International 2009 Melody Adelaide Gersbach died in a car accident in Camarines Sur, reports said.
Gersbach reportedly came from Legazpi City en route to Naga to attend the screening of Miss Bicolandia when her car collided with a Guevara bus.

rThe accident happened around 11:40 a.m. Saturday at Sitio Banasi, Barangay Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur.
A Bombo Radyo report said two others died in the accident, while another was injured.
The fatalities’ remains were brought to Funeraria del Carmen in Barangay Anayan, Pili, Camarines Sur.
Gersbach, 23, was born in Germany but her mother is from Bicol. She was crowned in 2008 as Miss Bicolandia. (Sunnex)

According to ABS-CBN News, their car crashed into a passenger bus. Accompanying Melody were her makeup artist, Alden Ordense, and the driver, Santos Ramos Jr.

The accident occurred when Melody was on her way to Naga City with her group in a Toyota Innova, and the car suddenly crashed into a Guevarra bus. It is reported that 4 passengers on the bus were also injured.

The source quoted police as saying that the accident occurred at around 11am when the CG Guevarra bus overtook the red Toyota Innova of Miss Philippines on the national highway in Sitio Banasi, Barangay Pawili, and swerved in front of the car before it crashed into a tree on the avenue.
The beauty queen’s father, Wolfgang, and her boyfriend, Toti Rocha, immediately went to the local funeral home where her body was located.

Melody’s group is reportedly scheduled to attend Miss Bicolandia with her friends. The source also said that she is going to Naga City to meet her boyfriend, Rocha.
Her family members said they would bring Melody’s body home to Legazpi City. Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. President and Miss Universe Philippines 2009 also sent condolences to the family.
Melody Gersbach was just 25 years old when she died on the 26th anniversary of the death of Ninoy Aquino, the leading politician fighting against authoritarianism in the Philippines.
Melody was Miss Bicolandia 2008 and Miss International Philippines 2009. Melody was a top 15 finalist in the Miss International 2009 pageant held in China.
