LOOK: Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista reunite anew at the GMA Gala 2024

Kapuso stars Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista have made another interaction at the recent GMA Gala held on July 20 at the Grand Ballroom of Manila Marriot Hotel.

The two were spotted posing for a photo, as recorded from the Instagram story of make-up artist Memay Francisco.

In the video made by Edward Berthelot, they were also seen talking, with Heart also greeting Marian’s husband, Dingdong Dantes.

This marks the second time the two were spotted interacting in a public event, following their moment during the 84th birthday celebration of GMA executive Atty. Felipe Gozon in December 2023, where they were seen greeting and hugging each other.

Before this, their recent social media interaction reignited speculation about a potential connection in October, when they started following each other on Instagram

Marian spoke about their reconciliation for the first time in November, saying her “heart is happy.”

“Ang naramdaman ko, talagang my heart is happy,” the Kapuso actress said, adding that she believes their rekindled relationship comes from “God’s perfect time.”

She previously shared that she and Heart have been maintaining contact since they decided to end their rift, but opted to keep what they’ve talked about private.

Heart also opened up about her rekindled friendship with Marian. “Marian and I, we’ve always liked each other because real queens support each other. She has a very strong character but I really appreciate her kindness and just her heart,” Heart said.

Marian and Heart’s reported feud started in 2011. When they appeared in the comedy film Temptation Island, they expressed interest in getting paired with the partner of the other. At the time, Evangelista was in a relationship with Daniel Matsunaga, while Rivera was dating her now-husband Dingdong.

The rift became bigger when Heart’s mother, Cecile Ongpauco, allegedly confronted Marian at the airport with a team of bodyguards and yelled at Marian to stay away from her daughter.

A month later during a press conference, Marian broke down as she recalled the incident. She said that she and Heart were okay, so she was surprised by what happened.

Heart and her mother held a separate press conference saying it wasn’t true and that those were airport security, not bodyguards.

GMA later released a statement, saying that the issue between their two stars is a “personal one” and that they were asked to “put this unpleasant issue to rest.”

At this year’s gala night, the two were among those hailed Hall of Fame Awardees, alongside Alden Richards, Bea Alonzo, and Dingdong Dantes.

Marian and Heart became actresses for GMA in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
