As the GMA Gala 2024 red carpet rolled out on Saturday, celebrities and guests served looks that’s nothing short of phenomenal. They came in colors of mostly black and white, as was the theme of the black-tie event, but their star factor shone bright with every click of the camera trained on them.
And then there were these couples who took the cake, whose mere presence commanded the attention of everyone at the Marriott Grand Hyatt Manila ballroom.
Check out this list and find out who among them is this year’s best dressed.
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes once again proved that they are GMA royalty, in more ways than one. From her custom velvet black column gown by the Taiwan-based Nicole Felicia couture house, which featured a sweetheart neckline lined with beaded silver flower design, down to her matching black platform heels, Rivera oozed with charisma and allure.
Hours after the gala night, the Dantes couple released a video which they called “Rendezvous” in which they played the role of lovers meeting in secret, dressed in their gala ensembles.
Bianca Manalo and Sen. Win Gatchalian
Beauty queen-actress Bianca Manalo went for an all-black asymmetrical ballgown and a statement necklace and matching earrings and cuff bracelet, as she sashayed down the GMA gala red carpet with her favorite arm candy, Sen. Win Gatchalian.
Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos
The actress was undeniably an “It” girl as she went for a gray avant-garde, heavily sequined number by American designer Rick Owens. Her gown featured a cape-like piece that covered one shoulder, as her gown emphasized her slim figure. She kept her hair in a tight bun while she looked stunning with her smokey eyes. She accessorized with drop earrings and bracelet from Bulagri.
On the other hand, Ramos looked dapper in a black suit and pants by Viktor Manila.
Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto
GMA sweethearts Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto were princess and prince personified as they served old-world charm and romance. While they did not walk the red carpet together for two years now, Forteza and Roberto did not lack for sweetness and made the occasion their “date night,” as shown in a video posted on the actress’ Instagram post.
For this year’s gala, Forteza wore a custom Mak Tumang ballgown with a deep V for a neckline, embroidered with what looked like sakura flowers at the hem. She accessorized with a NeilFelipp clutch. Her boyfriend, actor Jak Roberto looked dapper in a white tuxedo by Jhobes Estrella, with a large flower brooch.
Julia Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz
Singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose worked the red carpet in a slinky white gown with a low-cut neckline and feather-lined hem by Michael Cinco, showing off the “Maria Clara at Ibarra” actress’ figure in all the right places.
Her boyfriend Rayver Cruz, meanwhile, rocked a black-and-white tuxedo designed with a buckle in the middle.
Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero
The list will not be complete without Heart Evangelista in it. She and husband, Senate President Chiz Escudero spelled power as soon as they stepped out and walked the red carpet together.
Evangelista was resplendent in her cream colored mermaid-cut gown by the famous Italian designer Giambattista Valli, with a halter neckline adorned with white floral accents, and bodice dotted with tiny pearls. She appeared to have commissioned and fitted the gown while she was in Paris for the fashion week.
The fashion icon had her hair pulled back in a tight ponytail, and the look was completed by large diamond earrings and diamond and ruby cuff bracelets
