THROWBACK: Winning moments of Vice Ganda look-alike in “Kalokalike Face 3” of It’s Showtime

Kalokalike Face 3 Vice Ganda Kalokalike Winner

In the past 15 years, “It’s Showtime has offered a long roster of segments that brought entertainment and good vibes to the madlang people. And one of the most remarkable and top favorites among many is “Kalokalike,” which was initially launched in 2012 and ran for three seasons until 2015.

After almost a decade, ardent fans are indeed delighted as “Kalokalike” made a comeback last September 2, Monday, just in time for the 15th anniversary celebration of the noontime show.

As we look forward to the next episodes to meet more impersonators who are going to amuse us with their depictions of famous personalities who they deem as their lookalikes, let’s revisit first the winning moments of “Kalokalike Face 3” ultimate winner Daniel Aliermo during the grand finals held in 2015.

Just in case you’ve missed it or you’ve already forgotten about it, Daniel was the impersonator of award-winning “It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda. A native of Davao City, he was convinced to join the competition after receiving a lot of comments from other people that he has striking resemblance with the Unkabogable Star. Thus, he decided to completely mimic his idol’s hairstyle, fashion, and even voice.

And he truly slayed, as he successfully made it until the very end of the contest. During the grand finals, Daniel performed Vice’s rendition of “Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita,” as well as her original song “Push Mo Yan Te.” He also tried to recreate her concert-inspired performance of Lady Gaga’s “Applause” with matching costume change and prop.

In the end, all his efforts were paid off, for he was declared the “Ultimate Kalokalike Winner,” besting Katy Perry lookalike Melody Esther Loren Hodgson, who was the 1st runner-up, and Bruce Lee doppelganger Anthony Garcia, who was the 2nd runner-up. Daniel took home a whopping P300,000 cash prize along with “Trending Award” special award that he received.
