Footage has emerged of Eddie Hearn threatening to pull Katie Taylor out of her post-fight press conference following her controversial win over Amanda Serrano.

Taylor, 38, successfully retained her undisputed light-welterweight title with a contentious points win against Serrano, 36, at AT&T Stadium in Texas, on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.

Taylor was docked a point for a headbutt in the eighth round of the tightly-contested fight, a rematch of their 2022 clash – which had ended in a split decision victory for the Irish fighter.

And for the second time, Taylor emerged victorious over Serrano in the early hours of Saturday morning – with all three judges scoring the rematch 95-94 in her favour.

Serrano landed 324 punches compared to her opponent’s 217 and the announcement of the result was met with boos from the home support.

Speaking after the fight, Puerto Rico-born Serrano accused the judges of being “shady”.

She said: “I knew the judges would be shady, I went up three divisions and dared to be great.

“I am want to be great and fight the best. I am a featherweight. Every cut bothers you and you get blood in the eye but we know that’s what she does, no matter how many cuts I get, I keep going.

“She headbutts in every fight, she does it in other fights. I am a champion, I am happy and super-grateful to be here.”

Footage has now emerged of Matchroom promoter Hearn threatening to pull Taylor out of her post-fight press conference during a dispute backstage.

It has been suggested on social media that the argument stemmed from Paul’s promotional company MVP allegedly not allowing Hearn to speak at the press conference, although this has not been confirmed.

In the clip, posted on YouTube by Boxing King Media, Hearn can be seen saying: “We’re leaving.”

Another of Taylor’s promoters, Brian Peters, then says to somebody off camera: “Are you joking? Are you out of your mind? Everyone else gets three people up, don’t be acting the s***.

“Three people go up or none at all. Big boy, make your decision now. Make the decision.”

Hearn then instructs Peters: “Oh no, we will. We’re leaving.

Peters then continues: “Very simple. Make it, come on big boy.”

The unidentified person the pair were speaking to appears to concede ground, with Taylor eventually seen walking up to take her spot on stage for the press conference.

Speaking after the fight, Taylor defended her win and said the headbutt was completely unintentional.

“I knew it was an absolute slugfest in there, an absolute war,” Taylor said, welcoming a trilogy fight.

“I definitely didn’t agree with the point deduction. I certainly wasn’t fighting dirty. Sometimes it gets rough in there.”

The main event of the evening saw Paul secure a comfortable points win over Tyson, with the three judges scoring the fight 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in his favour.
