TIMELINE: Kathryn Bernardo’s groundbreaking ceremony to housewarming party journey

Bountiful blessings continue to come Kathryn Bernardo‘s way as the year unfolds.

What makes 2024 even more special for the 28-year-old actress is the highly anticipated completion of her dream home.

As congratulatory messages flood in, fans can’t help but look back on the inspiring path that brought Kathryn to her latest milestone.

It all began in 2016 when Kathryn bought the property. That was eight years ago and she had been been working diligently to save up for the construction of her family’s dream home.

During her Magandang Buhay interview on July 30, 2019, Kathryn opened up about the property for the first time.

She revealed: “‘Yung ‘soon’ alam ko gusto rin ni Mama na mapatayo na yung dream house na yun, so sana this year masimulan.

“Gusto ko kasi kapag nagpatayo ng dream house, yung gusto na namin, yung nae-envision ni Mama kung ano ang gusto ko, lahat, sa buong family.

“So, hopefully mag-start na yung construction soon. Kayod pa.”

Once again in September 2019, Kathryn briefly spoke about their future family home, talking about the challenges that come with constructing it: “Hindi joke magpagawa ng bahay.

“Siyempre, kung may gusto akong ibigay kay Mama na dream house, iyong dream house na niya.

“So, magtatrabaho pa ako and, hopefully, maka-start iyon soon kasi tatlong taon nang nandun iyong lupa. Sabi na lang namin, someday, uunti-untiin natin iyan.”

GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

2020

On March 9, 2020, Kathryn’s hard work finally came to fruition as she announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the house.

Together with her loved ones—and former reel-and-real boyfriend Daniel Padilla— they held out their ceremonial shovels and dug out soil from the property to commemorate the early stages of their future residence.

She said then: “The construction of our dream home has officially begun. I still can’t believe it’s finally happening after 3 years of planning!

“Finally, natuloy na iyong house kasi ang tagal na ito pinaplano. Pero parang hindi pa siya meant mangyari three years ago, until last year.

“And then, ayun, finally matutuloy na siya. Actually, aside sa akin, iyong bahay talaga na ito is for Mama and Papa, and ito iyong dream house nila.

“So, sa lahat ng trinabaho at puyat ko, ito, mangyayari na siya.”

At the time, loyal KathNiel fans eagerly longed for the moment they would celebrate Kathryn’s house project.

Some even imagined a scenario where Kathryn and Daniel would start working on their own future home together.

2021

On August 3, 2021, Kathryn gave her fans an update on the construction.

“Slowly getting there.. [house emoji] I can’t believe it’s finally happening! [emoji],” the inaugural Filipino Lancôme ambassador wrote in the caption of her post.

2022

At this point, Kathryn’s updates on the dream home for her parents, Min and Teddy Bernardo, had reached a significant progress of at least 40 per cent completion.

On January 5, 2022, the Kapamilya star took to Instagram, sharing sneak peeks from different angles of the house.

The photos show that workers were almost done with the second level of the star’s home in Antipolo, Rizal.

Some photos and videos showed Kathryn shoveling cement to be used in building their house.

“Site visit. Jan ‘22 [house emoji],” the A Very Good Girl star wrote in the caption of her post.

Her then boyfriend Daniel Padilla was among the first to leave a comment which read: “YAHOO!!!!! EXCITING TIMES!!!”

2023

By the time 2023 arrived, Kathryn indicated that her family was on the brink of moving into their new home.

On January 9, 2023, she uploaded a series of photos documenting a site visit with her mother Min, sister Kaye Bernardo, and beloved niece Lhexine Alcantara.

Kathryn declared: “Final push! [bicep emoji] [holding back tears emoji]”

Throughout the year, Kathryn’s engaging social media updates continued to provide glimpses of the home’s modern contemporary design accentuated by soothing earthy tones.

Finally, in December 2023, Kathryn initiated the gradual process of transitioning into her new abode.

This significant step was reflected in an Instagram Story where she could be seen meticulously organizing her closet with the dedicated assistance of Alora Sasam, Issa Reyes, and her trusted team at Neat Obsessions.

HOUSEWARMING PARTY

2024

Finally in 2024, marking eight years since her land acquisition, Kathryn joyously welcomed guests through her doors on April 11, 2024, embracing them in a jubilant housewarming celebration.

The star-studded affair attracted the presence of distinguished figures from her home network, including ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak, Piolo Pascual, and Dimples Romana.

The gathering also saw a host of Kapamilya talents— Maymay Entrata, Chie Filomeno, Loisa Andalio, Darren Espanto, Robi Domingo with wife Maiqui Pineda, Sofia Andres with partner Daniel Miranda, Dominic Roque, and Alora Sasam.

However, stealing the spotlight was none other than Kathryn’s Hello, Love, Goodbye co-star Alden Richards, whose presence infused the occasion with kilig energy.

Across social media platforms, the duo has been captured with friendly displays of affection, from Alden’s thoughtful gesture of sending Kathryn a bouquet of roses to their appearances together at various social gatherings.
