Marina Summers recalls heartwarming encounter with Vice Ganda at pride event in QC

Marina Summers couldn’t be more grateful to share a short but sweet encounter with Vice Ganda during Sunday night’s thanksgiving pride event in Quezon City.

On X (formerly Twitter), the “Drag Race: UK vs. The World” alum shared a photo with the “It’s Showtime” host, along with a lengthy caption of their encounter.

“Hearing Meme Vice say, ‘I’m so proud of you. You’re the best. The best,’ before I perform last night, is probably one of the best things that has happened to me as an artist,” Marina said.

According to the drag artist, Vice’s compliment gave her the same joy that she felt when RuPaul told her that she was “born to do drag.”

Marina also said Vice has “always been a queer icon and inspiration” for her and a lot of queer kids.

“I love you and thank you for being YOU!” Marina said. “I will continue to make you and our community proud!”

She ended her post by sharing the joke that Vice told her, “Sabi niya, tsaka na raw ako mag-retire ‘pag mayaman na mayaman na ako and ‘pag masakit na ‘yung tuhod ko,” she added.

In March, Marina finished in the Top 4 of the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. The World.”

Marina was the lone Asian contestant on the show, and she showcased Filipino culture throughout.

She was also a frontrunner, having won three Ru Badges in the first six episodes.

Marina made an unforgettable entrance on the show with a stunning Filipiniana look and even made netizens LOL after she used Durabox as her luggage.
