Maybe absence does make a heart grow fonder-at least that’s what it looks like in an ABS-CBNNews.com report about the most recent development in the Kris Aquino-James Yap break-up.

In light of rumors alleging that her estranged husband got P48 million as a settlement, Aquino said, “Kung ano man ang naging settlement namin, it was fair. I don’t think he was greedy. It was something na pinagtrabahuhan ko rin naman pero marami naman blessings na dumating din. Sinasabi ko na rin na because of that marriage, I have the biggest blessing because of Bimby (her only child with Yap).”

She added: “Alam n’yo, huwag n’yo naman s’yang maliitin kasi MVP din naman s’ya. Malaki din ang kita n’ya.

The report revealed that Yap’s lawyer Sonya Benemerito-Castillo, in a text message, also denied rumors Yap received P48 million as settlement. Benemerito-Castillo is from the Kapunan, Garcia and Castillo Law Offices, which represents Yap. “The issue on property settlement has long been settled, when the parties amicably and voluntarily entered into an Agreement early this year. Suffice it to state that the terms were fair to both parties concerned. We hope that this clarifies the false and baseless accusations against Mr. Yap,” the lawyer explained.

Aquino likewise stressed that she is not rushing the process for the nullification of her marriage to Yap. “It’s not like I’m going to get married tomorrow. It’s not like there’s anybody in the horizon. Tanggap ko na, noh.”
