New year, new dating rumors? Well, BINI Maloi is not having any of it. The 22-year-old P-pop idol slammed a certain post about her and OPM icon Rico Blanco allegedly sparking dating speculations after they were spotted in La Union.
Maloi posted on X (formerly Twitter) in bold letters, “STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS. PLS LANG,” while quoting a post from the publication. The post had the caption, “What’s the real score between Rico and Maloi? A video of them crossing a La Union street is trending on different social media sites, fueling romance rumors between the OPM artists.”
Maloi also replied to the exact post with a baffled reaction that read, “WHAT?! STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS.” As of writing, the post has been taken down on X, but the main article can still be found on the publication’s website.
Along with the surprising post that Maloi encountered today on X, she posted a photo with some of her friends on the social media platform. Among them were celebrity photographer, Shaira Luna, Ben&Ben members Pat Lasaten and Agnes Reoma, and yes, Rico was there with them.
The photo was in front of a beach, and notably, Rico and Maloi were not standing near each other in the pic. Moreover, Maloi has been sharing wholesome IG Stories of her in La Union with the friends in the picture. While she’s also trying to enjoy her time at the beach, fans, called Blooms, came to Maloi’s rescue, demanding an apology for the P-pop idol on social media.

An online citizen noted that men and women can be just friends, emphasizing that not every connection should have malice or romantic feelings. “People with opposite gender can bond together without any romantic feelings involved, hindi lahat magjowa!!” the comment read.
Another said, “NAKAKALOKA? Ang dami-dami nila dun sa trip na ‘yan. And bakit ba naman porket kasama, may malisya afas????? Dito talaga sa Pinas di na pwede as friends lang ang opposite sex.”
Other fans showed support for Maloi writing the comments, “Go get them, Maloi!” or “Tama tama! Tantanan na ‘yang fake news na ‘yan!”
As of date, Maloi, a 2002-liner, has had no reported romantic partner since she began her showbiz career. Meanwhile, the 51-year-old OPM singer, Rico, ended his longterm relationship with ex-girlfriend Maris Racal in July 2024.
