Nadine Lustre Kids on PEP.ph

Nadine Lustre is known for speaking her mind about issues that matter to her. The 27-year-old actress revealed her thoughts about having children in the world we are living in today.

In an online interview uploaded on YouTube on Saturday, Jan. 30, Nadine said that she does not want to have kids right now. And if she does decide to have children, she would rather adopt.

When asked how many kids she would want to have in the future, Nadine explained that her answer to this question “has changed so much” because of “everything that has been going on or just me trying to be aware or trying to understand what it is that’s happening around me.”

“Before, every time people would ask me that, I would say two,” she said. “But now, I’d say wala.”

Nadine reiterated: “I don’t want to have kids right now. That’s where my head’s at right now.”

And what is her reason for this? “Just because there’s so many people na on Earth,” she said.

But more than that, Nadine said that there are already a lot of children without parents who should be taken care of. “And I do believe there are a lot of kids that don’t have parents and who need taking care of,” she explained.

“I feel like if I do want to have a kid, I might just adopt.”

“Sustainability,” Nadine added.

Of course, Nadine made it clear that if she does get pregnant, she is “not gonna say no to that”

“If I do get pregnant, I’ll go with it,” she said.

Nadine stressed, “But right now, that’s where my head’s at—I would rather adopt.”

Nadine speaks her mind even on matters that are considered taboo for celebrities to discuss in public. She is known for reprimanding showbiz reporters for asking her questions that are too personal. Previously, Nadine called out reporters who asked her if she was living together or was ready to live together with then-boyfriend James Reid.

She also calls out erroneous reports on her social media page, something not a lot of high-profile celebrities do.

In an interview in December of last year, Nadine admitted she was scared of becoming a “has been”—someone no longer of significance—after being absent from the limelight for several months.

In the same online interview, Nadine said she has learned to be “not ok” all the time, despite being in an industry that expects its denizens to appear as if nothing is wrong, “smiling and all.”

“We’re human beings as well,” Nadine said.

She added, “We have emotions, we’re going through a lot of things also. And so when I was going through a lot of things also. So, when I was going through a lot and I was still like, what do you call it, working heavily on teleseryes and ali, I couldn’t really express myself.”

“I was scared to show everyone vulnerability. I didn’t want everyone to know that I was going through something. So always, like, keep it in a dark room and try not to show everyone that something bothers or something is going on with my life.”
