Golden State Warriors sensation, Stephen Curry will turn 37 this coming season. Spending his 16th season in the league, it is no surprise that the superstar is already focussing on what lies ahead in the near future for him. He is definitely looking forward to preparing for life after basketball, revealing many secrets in his conversation with CNBC.

In the interview, Curry reveals how he might have just 3 years left in the NBA, highlighting his conversations with LeBron James about seeking more advice from him on how to secure high family’s future post-retirement, by learning to operate a production company and setting up a secure post-NBA life.

“For sure. Pretty much everything. I know it’s such a great opportunity to leverage the platform of basketball, you know, doors that is open in a lot of different ways and, you know, amplifying, who we’re about in our own unique ways”.

Curry, who recently extended his contract with the Golden State Warriors, emphasized the importance of leveraging his basketball platform for future endeavors. “I got at least 3 years left,” Curry stated, underlining his focus on maintaining a high level of play while planning for the future
He further continued, “I know for him, like, he’s been a master at it for a very long time, and being in a space where this is setting up post-career, for us to be able to continue to stay in a space, whether it’s doing some broadcasting, whether it’s going deeper into shows like Mr. Throwback, which we plan on doing. I’m excited about it all”.

Stephen Curry’s production company, Unanimous Media, and LeBron’s Springhill Company are central to their post-basketball plans. Curry’s recent mockumentary ‘Mr. Throwback’ is one example of his foray into media, reflecting his interest in continuing to influence even after retiring from the NBA

And speaking of an era, Klay Thompson’s exit from the Bay Area has already ended one. But the day Curry decides to call it curtains, it will be the end of an era in the NBA, not just in the Dubs franchise. Curry also hinted about it, apart from mentioning his contractual obligation that will keep him active at least till 2027.

Stephen Curry discusses retirement timeline days after extending Warriors stay
Stephen Curry caught the Warriors franchise and the fans off-guard after removing Dubs info from his social media bio that even left his wife, Ayesha puzzled. Since then, an extension has been signed that will earn him a modest fee of $62 million for keeping himself with the franchise. But all good things must come to an end and Curry knows it, we should embrace it. Speaking about his retirement plan, Curry told the CNBC hosts, “Breaking no news on you. I got at least 3 years left. And I know, like, it’s all about not just how many years you play, but the level that you’re playing. So I feel like I have a lot left in the tank.”

“I wanna keep winning. It’s been great to represent 1 franchise for my entire career. I’m going into year 16 now. So, yeah. At least these 3, and then we’ll take it from there,” Curry concluded.
As Curry prepares for the eventual end of his illustrious career, his retirement will mark the end of an era in the NBA. While he remains focused on the next three years, the uncertainty of what lies beyond 2027 looms for both him and the Warriors.
