Awra Briguela thanks Vice Ganda for support ‘during difficult times’

Awra Briguela expressed her gratitude towards Vice Ganda for showing her support “during difficult times.”

On her Instagram account, Awra posted a series of pictures showing her and Vice in an affectionate embrace during the It’s Showtime host’s birthday celebration at a Balinese-inspired destination resort in Nueva Ecija.

“To my dearest mother, sister, mentor, savior, protector. I just wanna say thank you ‘cuz I won’t be here where I am right now if it’s not because of you,” Awra began.

“Thank you for being there when I needed you most especially during difficult times. You chose nothing but to trust, believe, and see the star in me. I’m very grateful for you being generous and for always giving me nothing but the genuine love, the genuine love that came from a genuine heart,” she continued.

For her wish to Vice, who also serves as her talent manager, the comedian wrote that she hopes for “all the genuine love as well and happiness every single day because that is what you deserve.”

“I also wish that you witness and see me succeed in life. I’ll make you, myself, and everybody proud. Happy Birthday, My Lovely Muder! I love you forever!” Awra ended.

It can be recalled that back in June 2023, the local star had been embroiled in a controversy after she got into a brawl at a bar in Poblacion in Makati that led to her arrest. She allegedly tried to take a man’s shirt off by force, and when he wouldn’t comply, that’s when things started getting heated.

While Awra was put behind bars for several days, the executive judge at the Makati Regional Trial Court eventually granted the actress a release order after she posted a P6,000 bail.

Charges of physical injuries, alarm and scandal, direct assault, and disobedience to a person in authority were subsequently filed against her, with additional ones that include light threats, grave coercion, and violation of the Safe Spaces Act.

A month after the incident, Vice broke her silence on the issue and set the record straight that she has not abandoned Awra as her talent manager.

“Hindi kami naghihiwalay ni Awra. Hindi ko siya iiwanan lalung-lalo na sa posisyon ng buhay niya, she needs guidance and I will be there for her,” the It’s Showtime host said.

“Wala tayong magagawa, nangyari na ‘yun. Magsisisihan pa ba tayo? Magmumurahan pa ba tayo? What can we learn from this especially you? What can you learn from this experience? How can this experience strengthen you as a person and empower you to be a better person?” she added.

Apart from Awra, others who attended Vice’s grand party were her fellow It’s Showtime hosts such as Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and more as well as Bela Padilla and Maricel Soriano.
