Julia Montes has remained tight-lipped about her relationship with Coco Martin as she neither confirmed nor denied the rumors of her supposed engagement and marriage to the actor.
The actress said this after she was asked about the ring she was wearing at the recent ABS-CBN Ball, during the Talk or Dare portion of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Thursday, Oct. 5.
“You were wearing a ring and people are speculating. Sabi nila, ‘Is that an engagement ring? Kasal na ba si Julia at si Coco (Are Julia and Coco already married)?’” show host Abunda said. “My question is, engaged na ba kayo? Kasal na ba kayo? Ano bang estado niyo ni Coco?”
(My question is, are you two already engaged? Have you tied the knot? What is the status between you two?)
Montes, who chose to answer the question rather than doing the dare, replied, “Siguro po (Maybe) let’s cross the bridge when we get there. ‘Yun lang (That’s all I’d say),” further affirming that she’s currently “very happy.”
Montes also noted during the interview that Martin, whom she described as her “knight in shining armor,” has been very supportive of her acting career.
“Meron po kaming pag-uusap ni Co na pag work, support. Coco has been very supportive ever since,” said Montes when asked if she had informed the “Batang Quiapo” star beforehand of her intimate scene with co-star Alden Richards in their upcoming film “Five Breakups and a Romance.”
(Coco and I have an agreement that when it comes to work, [we will] support [each other].)
(I did not tell him beforehand that there would be an intimate scene. I am a very shy person, so I only told him the plot and he also liked the synopsis.)
Montes added that she asks Martin for advice on her acting projects as the latter is “gifted” in such aspect. “Siguro dahil artista rin po siya, gusto ko rin marinig ‘yung side niya…and right now he’s directing also, so parang nakakakita po ako ng other views.”
(I want to hear his thoughts as well because he’s an actor. Right now he’s directing also, so I get to see other perspectives.)
Montes and Martin, who have been very private about their relationship, confirmed their romance last May. The couple didn’t disclose when their relationship started, although the actor said they have been “together” for 12 years.
