Today, March 26, marks Kathryn Bernardo’s 28th birthday. Fans of the box office superstar flooded social media with birthday greetings when the clock struck 12 midnight.
Even her ex-boyfriend Daniel Padilla posted what appears to be a mosaic or pixilated photo of Bernardo with a message in Japanese, which translates to ‘Happy birthday to you’.

Some of the loyal KathNiels gushed over Padilla’s gesture, but some reacted differently noting that he never greeted Bernardo like this on his social media platform in the past, so why now?

The two were among the attendees at their friends Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo’s wedding after-party last Saturday, March 23.

At midnight on Tuesday, Daniel took to Instagram to post a graphic image of himself and Kath and said “Happy birthday to you” in Japanese characters.
The sunflower emoji on the lower left of his IG story gave away the post was for Kath.
Kathryn and Daniel made headlines in November when they announced their split, ending their 11-year relationship. Two months after the breakup, Kath unfollowed Daniel on Instagram.
Following the breakup, Kathryn debuted a stunning ginger hairstyle where Heart Evangelista complimented her look and said, “Boogsh.”
In February, the “Hello, Love, Goodbye” actress attended Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” in Melbourne, where she sang “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” loudly, and her best friend, Arisse De Santos, caught it in a video.
