The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) is looking at forming an Olympic team that the Philippines will send to Los Angeles 2028, with the sibling of double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo hopefully included in the squad.

GAP president Cynthia Carrion revealed the plan on Wednesday as the country looks to build on the glory achieved by Yulo, who ruled the floor exercise and vault finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

And of those primed to make the squad is Yulo’s younger sibling Eldrew, who has shown a lot of promise in his young career.

“LA Olympics? I’m going to have a team, not only Carlos Yulo. I want the whole team, Philippine team,” Carrion said in a 24 Oras report by Joseph Morong.

“With his brother as well. Carlos and Eldrew.”

Eldrew is considered as one of the young aspirants who could take on the same path as Yulo. Eldrew has won multiple medals in various local national events, including six gold medals during the 2023 Palarong Pambansa.

Aside from Eldrew, another Yulo is making a name for herself with their younger sister Elaiza. Elaiza had a gold medal rush in the recent Palarong Pambansa, scoring five gold mints in the recent Palarong Pambansa.
