Maris Racal could not help but turn emotional while watching the trailer of her new movie titled “Sunshine.”

The actress portrayed the main character, a gymnast whose predicament started when she found out she’s pregnant.

“Di ako makapaniwala na natapos na namin ang pelikulang ‘Sunshine’ pagkatapos ng halos isang taon,” she wrote as she shared the reaction video.

“Saludo sa mga bumubuo ng pelikulang ito, lalo na kay Direk Tonet na ilang taon itong trinabaho. Hanga ako sa dedikasyon at puso ng mga kasama ko rito. Para ito sa kababaihan at sa kanilang karapatang magpasya para sa sarili at sa kanilang katawan,” she went on.

Furthermore, Maris expressed her pride in the movie, the only Filipino film featured in the Centrepiece section of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), alongside 43 other international films.

“Nakakaproud na ang world premiere ng pelikulang ito ay sa TIFF 2024. Isang malaking karangalan ang magkaroon ng pagkakataong ibahagi ang pelikulang Pilipino sa buong mundo.”
