Vice Ganda describes their wedding rings as “singsingan,” but no matter. He and Ion Perez, the love of his life, are now married.

On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Vice Ganda and Ion Perez shared with viewers of It’s Showtime more details about their surprise wedding.

Vice Ganda and Ion recently made headlines after revealing on their YouTube pre-Valentine vlog their Las Vegas wedding, which happened on the spur of the moment.

Vice Ganda recalled, “Sobrang spontaneous nun, buti nga merong slot dun sa pinuntahan naming Las Vegas chapel… Ano ba yun? Little Vegas Chapel something.”

Talking in spurts, the 45-year-old TV host later said, “Pumunta pa kami ng ano… wala kaming damit. Pumunta siya ng… Naghiwalay tayo.”

What Vice was trying to say was that they were not properly dressed for a wedding, so they went out separately to buy white clothes.

Ion added, “Actually, ito rin yung polo, e. Kumuha lang ako ng polong puti, ‘tapos sabi ko, ‘Puwede na ito!’ Bumili din siya ng ano, ng damit niya na parang simpleng dress lang.”

About their wedding rings, Vice Ganda called them “singsingan.”

He said, “‘Tapos bumili kami ng singsing-singsingan sa Aldo, five dollars!”

Vice Ganda said his wedding ring and dress were not as “bongga” as he had imagined his wedding day to be.

But it didn’t matter because he was getting married to the love of his life.

He said, “Parang dinedma ko na yung pangarap ko na bongga yung singsing ko, bongga yung damit ko. Parang, wala na akong pakialam.

“At this point, kahit walang tao, wala na yung mga kaibigan ko. Ang mahalaga na lang, yung kami, di ba? Yung nandun siya, nandun ako.

“‘Tapos sabihin na natin yung gusto nating sabihin. Yun lang. And it just happened. It just happened. Ang saya-saya namin. Ang ganda nung naranasan namin.”

The couple also revealed on It’s Showtime’s Wednesday episode that they had been engaged for a year and eight months before the ceremony happened.

Ion proposed to Vice Ganda on February 21, 2020, at their house in Quezon City.

He initially planned to do his proposal on the Kapamilya noontime show, but he wasn’t allowed to do so.

The couple decided to keep their engagement to themselves and even asked their friends to delete videos of their proposal. No wedding plans were made after the proposal since the COVID-19 pandemic happened.

The Kapamilya couple’s spontaneous wedding/commitment ceremony was eventually held at The Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 19, 2021.

It happened days after Vice Ganda’s back-to-back concert on October 15 and 16, 2021, titled VAX GANDA: A Dose of Laughter Live in Pechanga Resort Casino, California.

Vice Ganda first confirmed his relationship with Ion in October 2019 after their “Magpasikat” performance on It’s Showtime.
