Ruru Madrid admitted that he tried courting Barbie Forteza back then.

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Friday, Ruru and Barbie were shipped together by fans before they had their current love teams.

In an episode of “Lutong Bahay,” Ruru revealed to host Mikee Quintos that he tried to pursue the Kapuso Primetime Princess’ heart when he was around 14 to 15 years old, but he failed.

“Ang ginawa ko, binigyan ko siya ng tsinelas. Hindi ko alam ‘yung size niya,” Ruru said, adding that the slippers were from his uncle from abroad.

Barbie accepted the gift, but the slippers were too big for her.

“Ta’s ‘yun ‘yung dahilan kung bakit niya ako binasted,” he said.

Barbie and Ruru remained friends with each other.

Ruru is currently in a relationship with Bianca Umali, while Barbie is in a relationship with Jak Roberto. Barbie is also good friends with Bianca, whereas Ruru is pals with Jak.

Barbie currently stars in “Pulang Araw,” while Ruru is working on “Lolong” Season 2.
