Manila, Philippines – After several months of speculation and online buzz, Kapamilya star Sarah Geronimo finally admitted on Thursday, June 19, 2014 that actor Matteo Guidicelli is now her boyfriend.

The 25-year-old popstar princess confirmed this on the sidelines of a thanksgiving party for “Maybe This Time,” her movie co-starring Coco Martin.

Geronimo was asked about the recent admission of Guidicelli that he calls her “mahal,” after the actor mistakenly sent a text message meant for her to Wenn Deramas which the director then posted on Facebook.

“Oo naman [ganoon po ang tawagan namin]… Sige, sabihin ko na po, boyfriend ko na po si Matteo. Kasi marami ding nagsasabi na paligoy-ligoy… So, gano’n po,” the actress said.

In a separate interview with ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe, Geronimo added: “Hindi naman maganda na magtatawagan kaming mahal kung wala kaming relasyon, ‘di ba? So, opo.”

Early this month, the status of their relationship is still a secret to their followers.

The Voice Kids judge-mentor said it would be disrespectful to her director and co-stars to discuss her personal life when they are meant to promote the film.

Rumors romantically linking the Kapamilya stars first surfaced last year when Guidicelli was reported to be the only showbiz personality seen at Geronimo’s private birthday party last July.

However, the two appeared to be more open with their romance the following month, when Geronimo attended Guidicelli’s birthday party. The two were spotted holding hands at the gathering, with photos of their apparent sweetness making the rounds online.

Few minutes after the news was aired on ABS-CBN’s Bandila, ‘Sarah and Matteo’ trended on microblogging site Twitter with fans expressed their happiness and support for the new couple.
