The Chicago Bulls theme song, which was used to introduce the starters during their most successful era, is enough to send chills down your spine. Restaurants and clubs in Europe, especially France, have kind of made it a tradition to welcome their VVIP guest, Michael Jordan, with this song. However, Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal prefers a different beat. He wants to create his own music to get people dancing. The 4x NBA champion recently headed to Dubrovnik to deliver a powerful performance for Croatians.
On the Big Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal discussed how he became popular in the country and even got a new nickname while sharing pictures from the concert. “You know what they call me in Croatia? O’Nealovich, it’s a beautiful thing, lovely,” the Big Aristotle proudly said.
The event was held at Club Revelin on July 27. His co-host, Adam Lefkoe, asked him whether he would like a special song dedicated to him for his welcome. In response, O’Neal refused. “I don’t. I’m not a guy that requires special treatment. So for me it’s just the same thing that goes on the States, ‘Hey can I take a picture interrupting me while I’m eating and all that stuff,” he added. He also flaunted his cool glasses that he got from Dubrovnik.
This is not the first time the Lakers legend has graced Croatia. He has already been there twice. Last year, he performed at the Diamond Club in Malinska, where he also met Luka Dončić and Goran Dragić. Just recently, the 52-year-old reunited with his eldest son, Myles O’Neal, at the Rave Cave to give a historic father-son performance at Tomorrowland.

While we do love the Los Angeles Lakers legend livening things up with his powerful DJing performance, a special Shaq song wouldn’t be bad to recreate a moment like Jordan did on his European trip.
Michael Jordan goes viral after dancing to Bulls’ theme song
Jordan’s lavish yacht organized a similar welcome last year as well. In a clip, we can hear the Bulls’ theme playing in the background while Jordan barely tries to keep himself in the chair. Ultimately, he threw his hands in the air.
The song was always played to introduce MJ and the other starters on the court. Even in the latest clip, we can see Jordan and his wife, Yvette Prieto, thrilled and clapping their hands to the beat. It was at the French restaurant Bagatelle Mykonosas where the artist approached them as he played the Chicago Bulls‘ theme on the saxophone. The song means a lot not just to MJ, who won six titles with the Bulls, but to fans as well.
