The multi-time world champion will always be one of the most decorated stars of the sport having won belts in eight different weight divisions.

He also had a hard-fought trilogy with Tim Bradley, who is now well retired but remains a prominent pundit, losing the first fight but wining the last two.

Pacquiao has now been tipped to step back into the ring for a shot at the WBC welterweight title currently held by Mario Barrios, with the governing body giving their approval.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Bradley believes it could be an interesting fight, but is worried that it might take a serious beating for ‘PacMan’ to finally realise he’s done in the sport.

“Manny Pacquiao is a different animal. Tom Brady comes out of retirement all the time and does what he does. It’s Manny Pacquiao. Yes do you worry about him he’s facing a young guy at the best of his abilities right now. Barrios is a good boxer. Strong.

But it’s Manny. His C game, D game is a lot better than many guys’ A-game. If Manny’s coming back he believes he can win but it will be interesting to see. After last time seeing him inside the ring when he struggled against Ugas, I thought that was enough but sometimes guys gotta get their a** whooped to say OK, I’m done.”

Pacquiao has not fought since that bruising loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2021 despite many rumours of a comeback including an unsuccessful attempt to compete in the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
