While details about the upcoming GMA Gala 2024 are still highly guarded, one thing is for sure: it will be a celebration packed with stars. While it’s an absolute treat to see this year’s distinguished invitees walk the red carpet, each in their dazzling interpretations of the ‘Bling’ dress code—that’s barely the surface of the evening’s would-be high. The real fun begins when the most recognizable names in Philippine entertainment cross paths and interact, or when they give us highly anticipated or entirely unexpected surprises. Hopefully, here’s what the ball will bring:

SB19’s Stell in the Room

Last year, we saw the evolution of SB19’s Stell from a performer to a judge in Kapuso show The Voice Generations. The latest member to venture into solo territory with the release of his single, “Room,” Stell might just further prove why he’s one of the biggest P-Pop icons at the GMA Gala 2024. Will he be one of the stars walking the red carpet?

The Queen to Queen Interaction

Last year, the two queens—Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista—made headlines after renewing their friendship. The latter revealed that it was Marian who reached out to initiate the reconciliation.

Just this April, the global fashion icon welcomed actress Marian back to primetime TV following “My Guardian Alien”: “It gives me so much pleasure to congratulate you, Madam Marian, because finally after many many years, you are back where you belong, on GMA Prime. From my heart to yours, congratulations and welcome back, Queen on Primetime.”

The Kapuso stars were also spotted talking and hugging each other last December 2023. Since then, they have interacted a few times in person and online, much to their fans’ delight. This year, we want to see their reunion in a new light, particularly at GMA’s most glamorous night.

It’s Showtime, From Banter to Ball

Entertainment TV savants of It’s Showtime have viewers laughing out loud with their hilarious banter every noon. Hosts Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, and Anne Curtis keep the show going with their chemistry while the cameras are rolling, but their off-screen friendship certainly adds to the comicality and exuberance. Every time they share the stage, they never fail to make us laugh. Hopefully, that extends to the red carpet too.

The Barbie, Jak, and David Interaction

In a recent interview, Kapuso Primetime Princess admitted that her back-to-back TV and film projects, became a challenge to her relationship with Jak Roberto, as it affected the quality time they spent together. However, as the ever-supportive boyfriend, Jak turns out to be very proud of the #BarDa love team success.

When the actress was asked if the two men were friends, she answered, “Sabi nila. Hindi naman sila nag-uusap. But I guess they’re good.”

While Barbie may possibly do her solo red carpet stint just like last year, Dan interaction between the three of them would be interesting to see for BarDa or JakBie fans alike!

The RaStro Reunion

Actresses Glaiza De Castro and Rhian Ramos, who starred in an award-winning girl’s love (GL) series almost a decade ago, are reuniting for their first film project. The RaStro pairing played lovers Jade and Althea in “The Rich Man’s Daughter,” a big step towards sapphic representation in Filipino media. Now, nine years later, Rhian and Glaiza are back to prove they still got it. At the GMA Ball 2024, the two Kapuso stars hopefully appear on the red carpet together—another winning moment for the Filipino sapphic and the general queer community.
