Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano: Isang ‘nakakagulat’ na pagbabalik-tambalan sa telebisyon ang ‘ibinubunyag’ para sa 2025?

Actor Enrique Gil is making his teleserye comeback in 2025, with an ambitious project co-produced with ABS-CBN.

The series, which will be filmed in Europe, is based on a concept he developed, marking a significant milestone in his career.

In an interview, Enrique hinted at the genre and tone of the show. “Gusto ko action siya, pero action-comedy, medyo may pagka-lightness.

Kasi usually super bigat lagi ng mga action so I wanted it medyo siyempre may romcom involved, kailangan ‘yon sa TV, eh, pero it’s, kumbaga, medyo Ryan Reynolds-ish na may lightness but there’s some mafia involved,” he explained.

The leading lady for the project has reportedly been selected, but Enrique remained tight-lipped about her identity. “Mayroon nang leading lady pero I don’t think kung pwede pa.

Hindi ko pa nakakausap. Nagmi-meeting kasi sila, nagpo-promo kami. So hindi ko alam kung pwede nila sabihin but as far as I know — yes, may naka-lock-in na for that. Excited na daw siya, nagti-training na raw, nagre-ready na,” he shared.

Fans are buzzing about a potential professional reunion between Enrique and his former girlfriend and love team partner, Liza Soberano.

In a previous interview, Enrique revealed that Liza expressed interest in co-producing a horror project. “Yes, she is interested but she is in the US right now, she’s in LA.

But we talked about it for a bit. Yeah, she is interested but she is there right now,” he said. “So who knows, maybe next year. Sana kung may time.”

He added that Liza’s production company in the US could play a role in their collaboration. “We were talking the other day and sabi niya she is really interested in my other project, the horror.

When she comes back, we will talk about the storyboard. She also has a prod company there. Eventually, mag-collab kami,” Enrique noted.

Apart from his teleserye, Enrique is part of ‘Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital’, one of the official entries for the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The film will premiere on December 25, and Enrique encouraged fans to support the local film industry.
