Liza Soberano proud of BINI for global success: ‘I am really happy for them’

Liza Soberano expressed how proud she is of Filipino group BINI for going global.

In an interview with Front Row Live Ent. at 15th U.S.-Asia Entertainment Summit and Game Changer Awards, Liza remarked: “I am so proud of them. I’m so happy that BINI is really making their mark around the whole world.”

Liza shared that she is ecstatic to see Filipino representation in the international music scene.

“I am a huge fan of K-Pop and so I dreamed for so long for the Philippines to have our version of that and I think Filipinos are amazing when it comes to,

I mean it’s a stereotype, but we’re great singers and it’s true and I am happy that that is our stereotype and so I am really happy for the girls,” she remarked.

She went on: “They worked so hard to get to where they are now and I’m happy to see representation.

Like my little sister, she’s a huge K-Pop fan but now she’s not just watching K-pop she’s watching BINI and it’s her people so it’s something to be proud about.”

BINI recently added another feather to their cap when they were hailed Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.

“We’re so thankful for winning the Best Asia Act in this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards,” the group said in their video for MTV EMA. ”

We hope that we can keep on sharing our music with you and that the world can discover more of Filipino music.”

The group also penned a message on their X platform following their big win.

“This honor means the world to us, seeing Filipino music shine on the global stage. Maraming salamat po!” they said.

In August, BINI also accepted another international award when they received the Voice of Asia Awards at the Billboard K POWER 100 in Seoul.

“It’s ultimately an honor and we are so grateful to receive this award. But this award is not only for us but also for the people that believe in us and who have been part of our journey,” BINI said in their acceptance speech.

The group added: “This award reminds us that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.”

BINI, alongside SB19, received the Voices Of Asia Award for “their groundbreaking contributions to Filipino music and their unwavering championing of P-Pop on the global stage.”
