It is said that finding true and lasting friendships in the ever-evolving and hectic world of showbiz is impossible. Throughout their careers, actors work with different people, yet only a few genuine bonds last even after the filming is over.

And in this episode of Kapamilya Snaps, let’s meet the Kapamilya celebrities who have not only remained “taping friends”, but went on to establish strong and true friendships in real life!

Kathryn Bernardo and Maymay Entrata

Being the “Pambansang Fangirl”, it was indeed a dream come true for Maymay when she met one of her idols while she was still inside the Pinoy Big Brother house as one of the housemates of the Lucky Season 7 edition – the one and only Queen of Hearts Kathryn Bernardo.

As soon as she went back to the outside world, Maymay didn’t only hit the jackpot by becoming the Big Winner, but by also having the opportunity to work with Kathryn in the 2017 fantasy-action series La Luna Sangre. Their friendship further solidified when they worked again together in the blockbuster movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye” in 2019, which was shot in Hong Kong.

Dimples Romana and Angel Locsin

As their characters both in Lobo (2008) and Only You (2009) were best friends, Dimples and Angel also turned out to become one in real life.

They’ve been on each other’s sides through the ups and downs of life, such as when Dimples’ husband got hospitalized while she was busy filming Kadenang Ginto. Angel helped by looking after her children and even accompanied them sometimes to the hospital.

Besides, who would forget the rare instance when Angel, who was working for The General’s Daughter, made a cameo appearance in Kadenang Ginto that went viral online.

Dimples Romana, Julia Montes, and Kathryn Bernardo

Another beautiful friendship that Dimples has is with Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo, to whom she had worked with in the 2010 remake of the classic soap opera Mara Clara. Although unlikely since she played as their mom Elvira on-screen, but these three are actually close friends off-cam.

Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee

As we all know, Erich and Enchong are among the celebrities with the most admirable friendship in the local entertainment scene. Thus, their avid shippers couldn’t help but hope that they become a couple as well.

The EnRich loveteam began in 2009 when thy first starred together in the hit drama Katorse, which was succeeded by their remarkable stints in Tanging Yaman (2010), Maria La Del Barrio (2011), and The Blood Sisters (2018).

And last year, they put their partnership to a higher level by launching their YouTube channel EnRich Originals, wherein they upload video blogs of them together, as well as their 10-part digital series “You. Me. Maybe,” which was also directed by Erich and produced by Enchong.

Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano

From sharing the screen way back in 2005 for the TV adaptation of the comic book series Kampanerang Kuba, Anne and Luis went on to become the best of friends through the years. In fact, Anne tapped Luis to become her “man of honor” when she got married to husband Erwan Heusaff in 2017.

Angelica Panganiban and John Prats

Being both child stars in the 90s, John and Angelica have been present in each other’s lives throughout their whole lives. They both starred in youth-oriented programs Ang TV (1992), G-Mik (1999), and Berks (2002). But they truly became best friends through the gag show Banana Sundae (2008).

Aside from their work in front of the camera, the two went on to become business partners along with actor Sam Milby and started Bright Bulb Productions. They have seen each other grow and achieve countless milestones, such as when John tapped her to become his “best woman” when he tied the knot with wife Isabel Oli in 2015.

Yam Concepcion and Niña Dolino

Avid viewers of primetime series Halik were indeed delighted by the unconditional friendship of their characters Jade and Marissa, who fondly call each other “sissy”. But little we did know that the secret behind the great chemistry on camera between Yam and Nina is their closeness in real life.

Sharlene San Pedro and Miles Ocampo

We’ve witnessed them grew up together in front of the camera as among the pioneer cast members of the kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit. But Sharlene and Miles only became “soul sisters” later in their careers when they worked together in the weekly teen series Luv U (2012).

Julia Montes and Shaina Magdayao

From playing the role of long-lost sisters in the afternoon series Asintado (2018), Julia and Shaina went on to consider one another as real-life sisters off-cam. They’ve remained close friends after the teleserye as they have shared plenty of bonding moments, such as from watching a movie to travelling to Scotland.

Sofia Andres and Bianca King

They may have portrayed mother and daughter in the teleserye Pusong Ligaw, but Sofia and Bianca are able to build a strong friendship despite coming from different generations. In fact, when Sofia got pregnant, Bianca was among the first people to know it before the big announcement last year.

Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Gladys Reyes

They met on the set of the iconic soap opera Mara Clara 1992, wherein Gladys played as Clara, the kontrabida to Judy Ann’s Mara. But probably because of their characters, they did not immediately become best friends while filming it. Their closeness only started when they started to work on movies.

Since then, they have been present at the biggest milestones in each other’s lives like birthdays and weddings. Their last on-screen project together was the movie “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes” in 2018.

Who among these celebrity best friends you admire the most?
