For someone who has been given a string of projects since she joined ABS-CBN’s Goin’ Bulilit in 2012, Andrea Brillantes said she still has a long way to go, and needs to work harder.

“Hindi naman po ako nababakante sa halos four years na nasa showbiz po ako, pero kailangan ko pa rin po pagbutihan kasi marami pa akong gustong maabot na pangarap?”

A breadwinner since she was ten years old, the Kapamilya teen star is presently being “homeschooled.”

“Sayang din po kasi yung pagkakataon,” she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview during the opening of The Hub Foodpark at R20 on Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City.

Has she thought about the course she wants to pursue?

She paused, then in a resolute tone, she replied, “Ito po kasi talaga yung gusto ko.

“Sa ngayon, hindi ko po naiisip na may iba po akong gagawin. Pangarap ko po talaga ito, e.”

But she finds the art of putting makeup artist interesting.

“Naalala ko po si Ate Kathryn Bernardo, yun po yung gusto niya. Ako, mahilig din po ako sa makeup.”

Giggling, she added, “Puwede na po ba iyon?”

The 14-year-old Kapamilya star lives with her 43-year-old mom, and is the youngest among four siblings.

When asked to describe hr family’s usual bonding activities, Andrea said, “Kaming family ko, madalas kaming pumupunta sa mga ganito,” referring to The Hub Foodpark.

“Yung open lang. ‘Tapos may chicken, masasarap yung food, madaming food.”

During last year’s Holy Week, PEP spotted her in Disneyland Hong Kong.

“Yes po. Kasama ko po yung ninang ko, si ninang Sylvia Sanchez, and yung best friend ko po.

“Mauwerte po ako sa trabaho ko. Ang dami pong generous na naisasama nila ako.

“Kapag may mall show sa iba’t ibang country, basta kapag may mall show po, nakakabiyahe po ako.

“And naranasan ko na po makapag-airplane, pero ako lang po naka-experience nun.”

So one of her goals in the future is “Makapag-travel kami ng family. Gusto ko naman po ma-experience nila.

“Gusto ko din madala ko yung family ko sa Disneyland and Boracay.

“Gusto ko mag-travel kaming lahat kasi yung iba ko pong kapatid, hindi pa nila na-e-experience yung airplane.”

Her ultimate goal is “makabili ng malaking bahay para sa family ko.”

She already bought a car.

“Kailangan po kasi sa trabaho lalo ngayon ang hirap makasakay.

“Pero yung nag-iipon na po kami ay para makabili ng bahay soon. Nagrerenta lang po kasi ngayon.”

But her most immediate goal is “yung aircon na kami forever.”

She said candidly, “Electric fan lang po kasi kami ngayon. Ang init talaga. Pawis-pawis ka po.

“Alam mo na, pag summer. So wish ko is parang chill lang kami.”

Given her grand and great goals in life, does she get to enjoy this stage of her life?

“Oo naman po. Gusto ko kasi yung ginagawa ko.”

Does she have a crush?

“Nasa ibang bansa po, e. Si G-D. Si-Dragon po”

Has she met him already?

“Hindi pa po. Nasa ano siya e sa Big Bang sa South Korea. Leader po,” Andrea ended.
