She might have hinted it in interviews and gave pointed messages to those involved, but this is the first time on live television that Jinkee Pacquiao has addressed the issue directly.
Perhaps it might have been just water under the bridge, but Jinkee just wanted to let it all out once and for all.
On ABS-CBN’s “Kris TV” recently, Jinkee admitted that she had seriously dealt with husband Manny Pacquiao’s womanizing, which she said was a result of the former pound-for-pound champ’s fame and the influence of those who surround him.
The downside of fame
“Medyo lumiko lang (si Manny) ng ibang landas,” Jinkee said. “Minsan naiimpluwensiyahan ka ng pagiging famous mo. Hindi kasi ‘yun ang dati mong buhay and then parang nabigla ka.”
Manny, she said, was overwhelmed with the appreciation he was getting, especially from women.
Associates acted as go-betweens
She also revealed that Manny’s close associates and staff had acted as liaisons in these relationships, and in effect became the persons who had encouraged his extra-marital affairs.
“Minsan may mga bodyguard, minsan kapag may nagustuhan, o ‘pag naglalakad minsan ‘yung mga mata (sinasabi) sa bodyguard ‘O number, ganoon.’ Kapag may mga tao ka, sila ang nagwo-work para sa iyo,” Jinkee revealed.
Despite this, Jinkee could just only laugh at all her husband’s past shortcomings. She said she has moved on from these past episodes in her life.
Nice words for Krista
Jinkee also had something nice to say about the most prominent personality linked to Manny nearly three years ago.
In the interview, Jinkee said that starlet Krista Ranillo, who is now married to a US-based Filipino American businessman, deserves a peaceful life.
“Pabayaan na natin siyang (Krista) manahimik. Good for her. Past na naman ‘yon,” said Jinkee, who never minced words against the former actress when rumors spread about the affair.
Evidence surfaced in 2010 when cameras of the entertainment program “TMZ” caught Manny and Krista together in the boxing champ’s car, which was leaving ABC Studios in California after Manny appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Krista and Manny met while filming Manny’s film “Wapakman “ for the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Marriage stronger than ever
Jinkee now says that her marriage is stronger than ever, especially with Manny emerging from his defeat to Juan Manuel Marquez in December.
What makes their bond solid as a rock despite all the challenges?
“The love that never fades and God, kasi ‘yun ang pinakasentro sa aming relationship ngayon,” Jinkee said.
