MANILA — The sequel to the blockbuster hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye” will hopefully answer the questions left by the original film.

This is the sentiment of Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo, who on Sunday expressed her excitement for the sequel titled “Hello, Love, Again.”

The movie reunites Bernardo with Kapuso actor Alden Richards, five years after they captured the audiences’ hearts in the original film. Star Cinema and GMA Pictures made the grand reveal of the sequel on Sunday evening, further confirming that the movie will soon begin filming.

Set five years after the events of the original blockbuster hit, “Hello, Love, Again” will continue to follow the journey of Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) — but this time, the movie is set in Canada.

“We were all hoping na actually, pwede naman talaga sundan because as we all know, open-ended ‘yung ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’,” Bernardo said.

Bernardo said she recognized the investment of fans into Joy and Ethan’s love story, and reflected on the unanswered questions surrounding their characters.

“If I put myself aside, not being part of the cast, parang andami kong questions,” said Bernardo. “Ang dami kong gusto malaman — kamusta si Joy? Is Ethan okay? Nag-survive ba ‘yung LDR (long-distance relationship) nila? Kamusta ‘yung buhay niya sa Canada? Nagawa niya ba ‘yung dreams niya?”

“‘Hello, Love, Again’ will provide all the answers to my questions, and to all our questions, hopefully,” she added.

“Hello, Love, Again” is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 13, 2024.

“Hello, Love, Goodbye” was the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time until January 2024, when it was surpassed by “Rewind.”
