Just like his mega hit shows in ABS-CBN throughout his three-decade long career, the last night of Deo Endrinal’s wake at the Heritage Park Chapel in Taguig City was nothing short of a blockbuster.

Celebrities, present and former Kapamilya staff and employees who have worked with the Dreamscape Entertainment head were all there, as a few of the Kapamilya executive’s closest friends gave their heartfelt eulogies.

Gary Valenciano opened the tribute night for Endrinal with his song ‘Ililigtas Ka Niya”. This particular song, which Valenciano wrote for “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”, was Endrinal’s background song while he was in the ICU battling his ailment.

“Ito pala ‘yung paborito niyang kanta,” Valenciano shared.

The song also holds a special meaning for Mr. Pure Energy. After his (heart) bypass and battle with kidney cancer, Gary was approached by actor Coco Martin and Endrinal to write a song that can inspire Filipinos who are going thru battles of their own similar to how Gary triumphed over his own health battles.

“I wanna thank you Coco and Deo, for giving me a chance to sing this song, that I know when people hear it, it changes their lives or it starts to change lives,” Valenciano said.

“It’s a hard loss. It’s a painful one,” he added.

After his emotional rendition of “Ililigtas Ka Niya”, Endrinal’s closest friends and workmates Kate Valenzuela and Dreamscape Entertainment Head of Creatives Rondel Lindayag lightened the mood by sharing anecdotes about Endrinal.

They also gave a glimpse of Endrinal’s remaining days in the hospital and how the Kapamilya executive kept his health condition under wraps so that no one would be too stressed about it.

An emotional Laurenti Dyogi shared how he and Endrinal worked, from their early years in ABS-CBN up to today. Dyogi promised that he will look after PJ, Endrinal’s son, and his Dreamscape Entertainment that will now be under Rondel Lindayag and Kylie Manalo-Balagtas.
