Kapamilya actress Kaila Estrada was also caught up in the controversy involving Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings .

Several bashers are now calling Kaila the “son of a cheater” because of her father, John Estrada, who has the image of being a playboy.

Even her new teleserye on ABS-CBN, “Incognito,” was also affected because it stars Maris and Anthony, as well as Daniel Padilla and Richard Gutierrez.

Several memes have surfaced on social media where netizens have replaced the title “Incognito” with “Cheaters.” Kaila has even been dubbed the “Child of Cheaters.”

During the grand press conference for Kaila’s mother Janice de Belen’s new film, “Espantaho,” which is the official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024, she was asked about this.

How does Janice feel about her daughter being dragged into Maris and Anthony’s scandal?

“You know, I hate that people brand other people something like that. Just because…I hope you don’t make a mistake when you brand yourself like that. I hope you don’t make a mistake.

“Kasi it’s unfair. It’s unfair. You know, when you brand people, you damage their reputation,” ani Janice.

He continued, “First of all, it’s hard when you’re an artist, in the age of social media, what, you’re target practice, eh. There’s nothing you can do, right? I just hope it doesn’t happen like that.

“Because if I remember right, there was an article in TIME magazine, that when the internet was created, it was created for people to be able to connect each other from around the world at any time.

“Right, when there’s a connection, it should be… right, so there’s Friendster? Kasi friends, what?

“So the internet should have been a place of knowledge, should have been a place of connection. But now it’s becoming a place of hate. So it’s quite sad,” the award-winning actress added.

The seasoned star added, “It’s toxic. It’s sad. So let’s just try to post happy thoughts.”

“Inspiring thoughts. Inspiring quotations. Because as it is, life is hard, right? Let’s try to uplift each other, not destroy each other,” said Kaila’s mother.

Meanwhile, Janice was also asked how she and Chito Roño were doing together again in “Espantaho” after their last movie “Shake, Rattle and Roll 14: The Invasion” in 2012.

“I’m used to him. So, he doesn’t scare me too much anymore. I’m used to him. But you know, it’s always a joy working with him. It just really needs to be, when you work with him, you’re not sensitive.”

“Yun lang, kasi it’s about the work. It’s nothing personal. I love you!” sey pa ni Janice about Direk Chito.
