On Friday night, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles took on Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil. This marks the first-ever NFL game in Brazil and in South America.

The league chose to host a game in São Paulo as part of their ongoing expansion to different countries across the globe to engage with new fans and supporters.

The stadium is normally the host of many different soccer games, including the 2014 World Cup. The field uses a mixture of real grass and turf, which is only seen at two NFL stadiums: Lambeau Field and Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Packers and Eagles, respectively.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers line up for the opening kickoff at Neo Quimica Arena.

Although both teams are used to playing with this type of field, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who has been an avid football supporter throughout his career, raised concern over the field in a new social media post.

“Man this field sucks!!! GB vs PHI,” LeBron wrote on X with a facepalm emoji.

NFL fans were quick to agree with LeBron, saying they’ve seen players slipping throughout the game.

“amen Lebron. players slipping every play,” one fan said.

“Hopefully the slippage doesn’t cause a big play later on in the game,” added another.

“I hope no one gets injured tonight,” commented a third.

James has been in the NBA since being selected No. 1 overall in the 2003 NBA draft. He has won four NBA championships with three different teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. He also just secured his third Olympic gold medal at the Paris Games.
