Tampering”: Draymond Green Makes LeBron James Cry In Public & Lakers Nation Is Loving It - EssentiallySports

Throw in some 007 tropes, poker, bro moves and a basketball superstar in a suit, and you got yourself a blockbuster commercial. Lobos 1707 little James Bond skit is going viral on social media for all the right reasons. One, for showing LeBron James would look like as James Bond (and the hunt for Daniel Craig’s replacement is over), two, Victoria Justice looks AMAZING, and three, trolling Draymond Green. We always love when Dray’s the butt of a lighthearted joke. So the ad spot only gets better thanks to the witty minds on X.

Injecting some humor and style into the new campaign for Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal, James and Justice star in a parody of the one scene that’s in every spy movie – the intense poker game. It’s a recreation of that poker game in Monaco in Casino Royale (2007). It had everything. The King going, “James… LeBron James,” his entire cocktail preference – “Lime sliced, not squeezed” – Victoria Justice’s bombastic side-eye, the over use of the word ‘face,’ her evil villain dance, and James getting the upper hand in the end.

James is already informed of his next mission in the end and this time with his partner. Though he insists, “I roll solo,” his waiter/informant slides his new sidekick’s picture to him. And who would’ve thought, it’s the old class photo of Draymond Green in his Fresh Prince phase. We get why James started laughing and ended up crying.

How this ties up is logistical. After James became a primary investor in Lobos 1707, he brought in several of his friends within the NBA community, including his agent Rich Paul and his on-court rival, Draymond Green. Bron’s always been the ambassador of the brand. But is this their way of hinting at the new co-face of the brand?

For sure we’d not be opposed to this Dray-Bron collab. That plot twist in the end is the ‘chef kiss’ cherry on cake, that it’s the big talking point on social media. And the underrated comedians of the Internet are as smooth as Lobos.

Bron’s sidekicks steal the show
Most were stuck on that showstopper climax. We like to fantasize about The King and DrayMagic teaming up, but no one predicted this emoji-like response from James at the idea. Someone called it, “Tampering!” You know, like how there were rumors of Green using Rich Paul and the Lobos co-founders to lure James to Golden State.

The plot writes itself. Someone guessed the sequel would have Draymond appearing and saying, “It’s part of the game innit?” But the punchline was the Lakers star who’s had a famous sidekick throughout his career saying, “N**** SAID HE ROLLS SOLO.” Kyrie, D-Wade, and AD could match Victoria’s side-eye.

Green has competition though. Apart from this kicking off a side campaign of Bron for Bond, fans want another combination, LeBron James & Victoria Jusitice. “i would most definitely watch these 2 in an action flick,” was the consensus.

Regardless of what’s in store for the next Lobos ad spot, it’s got a big act to follow. Because, “The ending was priceless.”
