Lauren Hoffman of the Philippines concluded her debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing seventh in the repechage round of the women’s 400m hurdles on Monday at the Stade de France.
The Filipina-American trackster clocked 58.28 seconds in Heat 3 to formally exit the Summer Games. Only the top two racers in each heat will qualify for the semifinals.
Hometown bet Shana Grebo of France emerged on top of the field after registering 54.91 seconds to advance to the next round while Ukraine’s Anna Ryzhykova booked the last semis spot after coming in second with 54.95 seconds.
Cameroon’s Linda Angounou didn’t qualify, but finished third and set a national record of 55.09 seconds while also shattering her own previous personal record of 55.69 seconds.
Overall, Hoffman, who was coming off a 57.84-second outing in the qualification round yesterday, finished 20th in the 21-woman field in the repechage round.
