Joshua Garcia

Over the past few months, Joshua Garcia has been keeping himself busy with culinary classes and indulging in boating adventures, as seen on his recent Instagram updates.

In an interview during his launch as Sperry’s first-ever ambassador in Asia on August 23, 2023, the ABS-CBN actor further elaborated on his favorite pasttimes.

JOSHUA GARCIA: CULINARY SCHOOL

Joshua mentioned that he leans towards engaging in activities that give him a sense of productivity, which is why he decided to enroll in a culinary school.

He said, “Okay naman so far. Kasi rest days ko rin yung oras ko dun [sa culinary school], so ginawa ko siyang productive for me. So nag-enroll ako and continue lang lahat.”

The Kapamilya actor added, “Actually, pinu-post ko siya everyday. Kasi halos everyday din yung klase ko.”

On July 24, Joshua began documenting his culinary journey on his Instagram account, proudly showcasing his newfound skill in preparing Japanese katsudon.

This post even sparked rumors about his relationship with French-Filipino golfer Emilienne Vigier.

Joshua wanted to learn how to cook Japanese and Thai food, both of which are his favorites.

But he was most proud when he learned the art of making ramen from scratch.

He said, “So, nung nag-enroll ako, gusto ko kasi talaga Japanese at saka Thai. Yeah, yun yung paborito kong dishes.

“Pero, ang masasabi ko [na favorite dish na nagawa ko is] yung ramen. Finally, kasi yun yung parang gusto kong magawa talaga.

“And then, tinuruan nila ako paano gawin from scratch.”

JOSHUA GARCIA: BOATING ADVENTURES

Joshua also carves out time for beach trips and boating adventures, which he considers the “perfect vacation” when shared with close friends and family.

He said, “Of course, yung dagat, hindi mawawala iyan. Gusto ko kasi nasa dagat ako, very fun.

“And, of course, when you’re with your friends, parang that’s the perfect vacation.

“And dito pa sa industriya namin, with your friends, just enjoying the beach, have a few drinks.”

But where does he dream of going for a boating adventure?

Joshua answered, “Maganda sa Nice, France. Maganda doon.

“And actually, hindi ko pa rin masyado na-explore yung lugar for sailing. And sa ibang bansa, talagang maganda yun…

“Lalo na doon sa mga bansang sikat yung sailing.”

When asked about the essentials he always packs for boating trips, Joshua mentioned five items.

“For sailing, of course, shirt. Extra shirt, yun. Extra towel, extra shorts.

“Sunblock, of course. And a pair of Sperry shoes. Of course.”

How does he make time for all of this, given his hectic schedule as a celebrity?

Joshua said it’s all about proper time management.

He said, “Mas mahirap kasi siya ma-i-balance kapag taping. But for work na advance ang shoots, kayang kaya.”
