Enrique Gil had a hard time portraying a playboy in his movie with Liza Soberano titled My Ex and Whys. “I never cheated on anybody before that’s why it’s so hard,” said one-half of the LizQuen love team.
Enrique Gil admitted he had a hard time portraying a playboy character in his movie with Liza Soberano.
Titled My Ex and Whys, this LizQuen film is helmed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. Slated to open on February 15, this movie is the Valentine’s offering of Star Cinema.
“I never cheated on anybody before that’s why it’s so hard,” the 24-year-old actor told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters during his launch as the newest celebrity endorser of Grips Hair Wax and Easy Wash at the B Hotel held on January 10, 2017.
He added, “Kaya sabi ni Direk Cathy, it’s so hard kasi very distinct yung emotion na for something we never felt before.”
In My Ex and Whys, Enrique is cast as Gio, a former certified playboy trying to prove that he is already a changed man.
“I play Gio, pamilya siya ng mga playboy. He was…drummer siya ng school, rockstar.”
Years later, he becomes a businessman and has one goal: to prove to his ex-girlfriend that he’s already a better man.
“So now he wants to prove to his ex na nagbago nga talaga siya.
“Problema, ang ex mo yung babae dahil nasaktan na, siya naman ang hindi nagbabago ng tingin sa ‘kin.
With a serious tone, Enrique asked, “What if a guy really has changed? Can you change the pain?
“Take the pain away or change the mindset of the girl of not trusting you ever again?
“So what happens if a guy really changes at ang babae naman ayaw mag-change?”
The Kapamilya actor prepared for this role “by talking to other people, couples, and then yung mga stories nila it helps a lot.
“Just try to think of it na what if you really hurt somebody, di ba? Looking at somebody you love.”
Enrique and Liza still have six to seven taping days left.
NO SUGAR COATING. The Dolce Amore star described his upcoming film as “one of the pinakatotoong script of movie o story na nagawa namin.”
He explained, “Hindi kasi katulad ng ibang previous works or projects namin. Parang very fairytale story.
“Alam mo yung parang, wow it’s too good to be true. Eto sobrang totoo.”
Enrique disclosed, “Simula pa lang ng pelikula mag-ex na kami kasi niloko ko siya.
“Sa simula ng movie ex na kami ganun ka-ano so… more mature, more totoo.
When asked to describe what makes this movie different from his past projects, the Star Magic artist quipped, “mga linyahan came from real stories of couples na kinakausap namin na pag nakita mo yung eksena parang seryoso nakakatawa pero totoo talaga.
“I mean it’s so real, so totoo, it’s not sugar-coated which makes it so nice.”
He told the media that viewers will surely relate to this film, “Yung iba to the point na feeling ko pag may date ka na manonood kayo, ‘bakit ganyan mga lalaki, tama mga lalaki ganyan!’
“May ibang lalaki, ‘Uy di naman kami lahat ganyan.’
“Baka mag-away kayo, sobrang totoo talaga. Girl versus boy yung relationship. Ganda.”
To date, the LizQuen love team has topbilled four movies: She’s The One (2013), Just The Way You Are (2015), and Everyday I Love You (2015) with Gerald Anderson.
