The reunion

In the post shared by the dermatologist, the two actresses joined her for a series of photos as they were enjoying the night. “My fave moments with these two Aivee girls,” Dr. Aivee wrote. Photographer Magic Liwanag captured this most-awaited interaction, alongside some iconic moments with other stars under the Aivee League.

The dual birthday and brand celebration also reunited other big stars in one roof such as Dolly De Leon, Heart Evangelista, Bea Alonzo, Kyline Alcantara, and Maja Salvador. Together with these names, Sofia Andress, Yassi and Issa Pressman, Mimiyuuuh, Maika Rivera, and Barbie Imperial also posed for the camera in one star-studded photo à la Oscars in 2014.

The history

Last December 2015, Bernardo and Lustre starred in their first music video together for the ABS-CBN Christmas station ID, “Thank You For The Love.” Since then, their joint appearances were only performances with their respective on-screen partners, Daniel Padilla and James Reid. In October 2019, the two were again spotted in one stage for a sit-down forum on women empowerment. That same year, they opened up on the possibility of working together if their managements would allow it.

Meanwhile, in a The Buzz interview back in March 2015, the Asia’s Superstar admittedly addressed the awkwardness between her and the Viva artist. “Hindi pa nabe-break ‘yung awkwardness na ‘yun kasi ‘di pa kami formally nagme-meet,” she pointed out, also mentioning social media as a big factor on their ilangan. Just two months after, the FAMAS awardee shared that they personally met through designer-stylist Bang Pineda during a shared ASAP spiel.

Lately, Philippine media is crossing boundaries that we did not see coming. Who’s to say that a KathDine project is not happening in this lifetime? We know it is coming, and we just have to wait for the perfect time and material! The question is, will you be ready for it?
