Kathryn Bernardo‘s first-ever acting credit was portraying a younger version of Bea Alonzo in the 2003 primetime show It Might Be You. Soon after, executives and producers started to take notice of the little girl from Nueva Ecija. Eventually, she landed a spot in the pioneering batch of Goin’ Bulilit. Seven years after she debuted on screen, Kathryn was tapped to be one of the lead stars in the remake of Mara Clara—and the rest, as they say, is history.

Regarded as the role that launched her into prominence, Kathryn brought to life the modern-day version of Mara David in a remake of the 1992 soap opera. A tale of two girls switched at birth, the story follows her character as she unknowingly gets reunited with her biological family, but not without butting heads with the antagonistic Clara.

2. Princess and I (2012)

Kathryn’s pairing with Daniel Padilla first began in 2012’s Princess and I. The actress played a lost princess from the fictional kingdom of Yangdon. After a winding turn of events seperated her from her family and her throne, she grows up in the Philippines as the optimistic Mikay. She’s then caught in a complicated set-up with her best friend, an arrogant teen, and a blue-blooded boy.

3. Got to Believe (2013)

Who doesn’t remember the magic between Chichay and Joaquin? This teleserye chronicled the unlikely friendship between a simple girl whose family owns an amusement fair, and a troubled young guy who suffers from a chronic illness. The show was halved into two seasons, with the latter part moving the story to Singapore.

4. Pangako Sa’yo (2015)

Another heavyweight remake that starred KathNiel was the 2015 rendition of Pangako Sa’yo. A retelling of the classic bout between the de Jesus’ and the Buenavistas, the couple topbilled the show as the love-struck offspring of veteran actors.

5. La Luna Sangre (2017)

An adaptation of a pop fiction book, Kathryn brings to life Athena Dizon, a studious schoolgirl who plays a trick on resident bad boy Kenji de Los Reyes. In order to make an ex jealous, Kenji enlists Athena to play her pretend girlfriend. Unexpectedly, genuine feelings begin to form.

Undoubtedly one of the pair’s most iconic movies together, Kathryn and Daniel find themselves in the scenic city of Barcelona as Mia and Ely. The former, who’s looking for a fresh start after a blunder back home, learns about Ely’s past love, and how he’s been struggling to move on from it.

9. Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019)

2019’s Hello, Love, Goodbye was a monumental project for both of its lead stars, Kathryn and Alden Richards. It tells the story of two overseas workers who develop a mutal understanding in a foreign land.
