PH comedians like Rufa Mae Quinto, Empoy Marquez, Kim Molina, and more battle it out for P1 million pesos!
Have you ever been told “bawal tumawa”?
We’re sure your parents, teachers, or elders (it’s always the authority figures) have told you to behave and cut out the giggling–but didn’t being told to act serious always seem to make everything even funnier?
Fighting that very Pinoy urge to enjoy a good laugh is the goal in LOL Philippines, a new reality comedy show on Prime Video hosted by Vice Ganda!
LOL, or Last One Laughing, has several editions internationally. LOL Philippines is the local version of the hit show has the same basic premise: inside the LOL house, nobody is allowed to laugh. If you manage to be the last one standing (with a serious face), then you win a trophy and P1 million pesos!
The challenge? Everybody is encouraged to crack each other up in a joke-throwing battle royale. And it gets harder because the contestants are a lineup of the country’s top comedians!
Funnyman Jayson Gainza, whose previous experience being locked in a house might not be enough to save him.
You have the comedy duo-turned-couple goals–or is it the other way around–of Jerald Napoles and Kim Molina.
The as-seen-on-film funny faces of Empoy Marquez and Pepe Herrera.
The veteran larger-than-life tandem of Tuesday Vargas and Rufa Mae Quinto.
For the discerning, the standup comedy skills of Victor Anastacio.
A healthy dose of beki humour with Negi and Chad Kinis.
And, of course, our beloved host of the “bahay ni lola” Vice Ganda will no doubt be throwing an endless supply of barbs and zingers at our contestants.
We can only imagine the hilarity with one of these comedians as a housemate, but 10? That’s guaranteed chaos and they need to hold in all snickers, smiles, and smirks for 6 hours under the watchful cameras of the LOL Philippines house.
As Chad Kinis shared “Ang hirap magpatawa ng hindi tumatawa” and we imagine being comedians, the contestants will definitely be struggling to stay stone-faced for that P1 million peso prize.
From the teasers, we can already see that there’s everything from visual gags, slapstick, classic hidden camera games, and even the dreaded “English Only” challenge.
