LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, was notably absent from social media from the start of the summer league. He was totally committed to playing to the best of his abilities and wanted to realize his full potential. Unfortunately, Bronny’s summer league debut fell short of the fans’ expectations as the Los Angeles Lakers suffered five straight losses. Still, he picked up his speed fast and dominated the next three summer league games.

Finally, after a protracted absence, Bronny has taken to social media. On Wednesday, the 19-year-old rookie posted a story to his Instagram account. The piece, however, merely includes a plain video of him scoring during the Summer League; it has no text or description.

He also posted it to his X account:

Bronny’s next move is to bide his time until the Lakers make their decision regarding his NBA status for the next season. Despite averaging over 25 minutes per game, he only scored 8.8 points, had 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game in the Summer League. His field goal percentage was 35.0%, and his three-point percentage was 15.8%.

Bill Simmons Raises Concerns About the Impact of Acquiring Bronny James on the Lakers’ Future

Bill Simmons has expressed serious reservations about what acquiring Bronny James will do for the Los Angeles Lakers. During a recent episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” Simmons questioned the rookie guard’s potential to meaningfully impact the Lakers’ chances of winning a championship.

“This Bronny James thing is going to be a weird wrinkle in the season; I don’t think it’s going to be a positive. It’s cool that [LeBron is] going to be able to play with his son, but it’s going to be a major distraction this whole season. It just is, and the odds of this team really looking rocky in December and being a panic-trade candidate, I would think they’re one of my No. 1’s.” Simmons said.

After selecting Bronny with the 55th pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, the Lakers have come under intense criticism from the public. Many supporters have claimed that LeBron James, Bronny’s father, is to blame for his draft success. However, Rich Paul recently disclosed the whole topic and mentioned that the person who made the call to draft Bronny was not LeBron James.
