“Kalokalike,” one of “It’s Showtime’s” popular segments, has returned to television on Monday. In its premiere episode, a lookalike of Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo emerged victorious.
Andres Santos of Marikina City graced the first-ever episode of “Kalokalike Face 4,” looking all buff in gym clothes like a true Olympic champ.
As Yulo’s impersonator, he showed off some gymnastics poses and even demonstrated a split to the hosts.
He also flaunted his talent in dancing when he did the “Maybe This Time” trend on stage, with Vice Ganda gamely doing the dance trend with him later on.
According to Santos, it was his friends and classmates who first noticed his resemblance to our Golden Boy.
“Noong unang-una po, 2020 pa po ‘yun. May mga friends and classmate na po ako na nagsasabi na kamukha ko po talaga si Carlos Yulo,” he said.
Santos eventually won the competition after getting three “Kalokalike” stars from judges Bianca Umali, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Itchyworms band members Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz.
He bested two other contestants, namely Kat of Pasig City, who impersonated Yulo’s girlfriend Chloe San Jose, and Kevin of Quezon City, who impersonated “Black Rider” star Ruru Madrid.
Yulo made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning two gold medals, one in floor exercise and the other in vault in men’s gymnastics. He is the country’s second-ever gold medalist at the Olympics and one of only four to win two medals.
The gymnastics sensation visited GMA Network last week.
“It’s Showtime” made an epic debut on GMA-7 in April this year and had several trending moments. The noontime show is also being aired on GMA Network’s GTV.
