OA, or “overacting” was how Daniel Padilla labeled netizens’ reaction to his viral birthday video, where he cursed out parts of the lyrics of the Rivermaya hit song “Hinahanap-Hanap Kita.”

Padilla made headlines after belting out, “Pati lupang pinagsamahan / Mukha yatang nilimot na / Ng puso mong biglang lumisan / At ngayonpu******* may kapiling ka nang iba,” in an impromptu performance during his birthday party in Tanauan, Batangas.

Days later, the actor-singer addressed the viral video in an interview with entertainment journalist MJ Marfori via Tiktok on Wednesday, May 1.

“Ang OA ng mga tao. Masyadong OA ang mga tao. Nage-enjoy lang ako (People are over-acting. They are over-acting too much. I was just enjoying myself). Relax,” he said.

The video, originally posted by one Ted Padilla Evangelista on Facebook, made some netizens speculate if the actor-singer was referring to his ex-girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo, who was reportedly being courted by Alden Richards and Jericho Rosales.

Padilla celebrated his 29th birthday on multiple occasions, including one with his close friends and family, and another with rescue animals and cancer patients.

He was recently announced as one of the co-owners of the theme park J Castles, which had its soft opening in Tanauan, Batangas on May 1.
