Filipina actress Liza Soberano continues to make a wave abroad with her recent engagement as a juror for the first-ever Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival (HIFF) in Vietnam.

The festival, which started on April 6, concluded with an awarding ceremony last April 13.

Soberano was a head-turner with her elegant sleeveless black gown designed by Filipino designer Anthony Ramirez.

The actress shared her moments at the HIFF via a social media post on Sunday night.

“So thrilled and honored to have served as a jury member for the first ever Ho Chi Minh International Film Festival. Was such an amazing showcase of talented filmmakers from all over the world!! Truly so inspired to continue working in an industry that encourages freedom of expression and challenges the way we think. Congratulations to all winners!” Soberano captioned her Instagram post.

It was also a big night for the Filipino social drama “Gospel of the Beast by Filipino” directed by Sheron Dayoc as it took home the Best Film award.

According to its website, the HIFF “celebrates the art of storytelling through film” and “serves as a global platform for filmmakers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts to come together, share their love for cinema, and explore the magic of storytelling through the lens.”

Just last month, Soberano announced that she is now a member of Screen Actors Guild (SAG) due to her involvement in her Hollywood debut project “Lisa Frankenstein.”

She also graced the 2024 SAG Awards were she met Hollywood actors.

Last February, Soberano was also selected as one of the presenters at the Anime Awards in Tokyo, Japan.
