Fans concerned about Pacquiao’s safety and health
Manny Pacquiao has faced strong criticism from fans following his recent exhibition match. Aged 45, the legendary Filipino fighter entered the ring against 6-foot Rukiya Anpo, significantly taller and younger at 28. The fight highlighted Pacquiao’s struggles against the physically imposing Japanese kickboxing champion.
The exhibition, which took place without official judges, ended in a draw by default. However, many spectators felt that Anpo had the upper hand, dominating Pacquiao with his reach and power.
Mayweather and Pacquiao training their sons, will they fight in the future?
Fans, concerned about Pacquiao’s safety and health, noted that he seemed much older and less agile than in his prime, leading to widespread calls for him to retire.
“Pacquiao is getting knocked about, this kid has got a straight jab like an arrow and it lands everytime,” a fan wrote.
Another added: “This is embarrassing… Rukiya Anpo dominated Manny Pacquiao. But this fight was a draw because it’s an exhibition boxing match.”
Willing to continue his career
During the bout, Anpo managed to land several hard punches, keeping Pacquiao at bay and preventing him from effectively countering. Although Pacquiao showed moments of his old skill, particularly with a strong uppercut towards the end of the fight, it was clear that his physical limitations were a factor.
This latest performance has fueled debate about whether Pacquiao should hang up his gloves for good. While he remains determined to chase new milestones in boxing, the recent exhibition has many of his supporters concerned about his long-term health and well-being.
