Scenes turned ugly during a youth basketball game between Payton’s Palace and Tumakbo United on Sunday night, with one player stomping on another player’s head during the AAU event.
A member of Tumakbo United member captured footage showing the team’s player, Seth Guingam, catching a ball and getting knocked over by an opposing player. They begin scrambling for the ball on the floor when a third player gets involved and stomps Guingab’s head onto the court before a referee holds him.
Police are investigating the matter, while the aggressor has since been kicked off the Payton’s Place squad.
Roderick Guingab, the victim’s father, gave KTVU permission to share a video of the incident, which has since made it to other outlets.

It is unknown as to whether Seth has suffered injury or head trauma from the incident at the AAU game.
Youth Basketball Player’s Team Condemns His Actions
Payton’s Place has since condemned their player’s actions during Sunday’s fixture.
“There is footage circulating of one of our team’s games this past weekend. Unfortunately, the footage is not a positive representation of our team and our values,” the team posted to Instagram on Monday.
“The behavior that was exhibited by our player is not acceptable, and is being taken seriously. We do not condone violence. Our players are expected to conduct themselves with integrity on and off the court. At this time, both teams are working together to resolve this matter.”
Meanwhile, the Alameda Police Department has revealed that both children are 13 years old, though they declined to share anything else given that the parties are juveniles.
Payton’s Place followed Monday’s post up the following day to reveal that the player in question no longer plays for their team.
“His behavior was unexpected. We are working to assist in providing him resources to prevent this in the future,” they said. “Violence has never been a part of our team. On behalf of the Payton’s Place Family, we sincerely apologize to the player injured in this incident, his family, and all those impacted.”
