Even Joshua Garcia took his new film “Un/Happy For You” to heart, as he couldn’t contain himself from sobbing in a particular scene.
Garcia clutched the shoulders of his co-star Nonie Buencamino, in what seemed to be an emotional rain scene, which eventually led to the actor sobbing uncontrollably, as seen in photos on Star Cinema’s Instagram page on Saturday, Aug. 31.
“Joshua Garcia couldn’t stop crying in ‘Un/Happy For You’ behind the scenes,” the post read. “Joshua’s dedication to his character, Juancho — a young chef grappling with the pain of his breakup with Zy (played by Julia Barretto) — is on full display.”
The film production company also shared that even though its director Petersen Vargas called for a “cut,” Garcia remained emotional all throughout.
“But the most heart-wrenching part was even after director Petersen Vargas called “Cut!” Joshua couldn’t stop crying, which showed just how deeply he connected with the moment,” the post read.
A clip of Garcia trying to get himself together during filming was also shown on Star Cinema’s YouTube channel on Friday, Aug. 30, where he was comforted by Buencamino and Ketchup Eusebio.
Garcia recently reunited with his ex-girlfriend Julia Barretto in “Un/Happy For You,” which tells the story of Bicolano chef Juancho (Garcia) rekindling his feelings for Zy (Barretto), despite attempting to get revenge for his past heartbreak.
The ex-couple, who are currently in happy relationships with their respective partners, maintained that they had no problem joining forces in the film as they’re both in “secure” positions in their lives.
