Paolo Contis has been in hot water on social media due to some comments he made when he interviewed Alden Richards on #JustIn.

Speaking about Alden’s 2019 film with Kathryn Bernardo, “Hello Love Goodbye,” Paolo gave props to the Asia’s Multimedia Star for being a part of the highest grossing Philippine movie of all time.

“‘Yung number one movie ng Star Cinema at ABS-CBN, taga GMA ‘yung artista,” he said. “Of course we have Kathryn who’s the biggest star of ABS-CBN but you also are a big star of GMA.”

Some fans of Kathryn Bernardo took issue with this, as only the first part of his comment made the rounds online.

On Friday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Paolo shared his thoughts on the flak he received and cleared up his comments about Alden and Kathryn.

“Medyo nagulat ako kasi it was taken out of context,” he said. “Obviously ‘yung nag-post, para sa akin ah to be honest, medyo naghahanap siya ng issue.”

“To be honest kung ako din naman ‘yung fan ni Kathryn at ‘yun lang ‘yung maikling part ‘yung napanood ko… mao-offend din ako,” he added.

Paolo said Alden was thankful to Star Cinema and to Kathryn for what he did for him, so he hopes people can watch the whole interview instead of just going by clips online.

“Nadala na naman tayo ng clickbait and sadly people got mad at me and Alden,” he said.

Asked for his message to Kathryn, Paolo reiterated his respect for the actress.

“Hi Kathryn, I respect you as an actress you’re one of the biggest actress of ABS-CBN. Sana mapanood mo ‘yung buong interview para ikaw mismo na makita mo nabigyang respeto ka namin dun sa interview,” he said.
