In a press conference Sunday, Richards admitted that he has been waiting for the follow-up since they finished filming the original in 2019.
“Inintay ko rin siya. After seeing the film over and over again, ‘yung pangarap na ‘yun nasa puso ko lang in the past five years and finally ito na, dreams do come true talaga,” he added.
What excites Richards even more is the collaboration of ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA Pictures to make “Hello, Love, Again.”
“Parang panaginip. Hindi po kami makapaniwala na it’s happening this year and we couldn’t be more excited po on what’s about to unfold in the next couple of months,” Richards said.
“What excites me even more is this is the first collaboration of Star Cinema and GMA Pictures in a film and we couldn’t be happier, talagang tuloy-tuloy na ‘yung collaboration,” he added.
“Ever since naman we started ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye,’ na from actors na nagsama from different networks, ngayon for a beautiful movie to happen, even networks are now one and united for this film,” the actor also said.
Richards added that “Hello, Love, Again” boosted his morale and he can’t wait for it to be seen by the public.
“The fans of the actual film really want to know what happens next. We are aware na nandiyan lang, the clamor is there. Ngayon lang talaga mas nabigyang bunga ‘yung paghingi nila ng part two for the film,” he said.
“The long wait is over. Kasama ako roon, kasama akong naghintay, kasama kami roon … I couldn’t be happier today kasi this gave me another motivation, ‘yung gigising ka sa umaga na mayroon kang nilu-look forward.”
Set five years after the events of the original blockbuster hit, “Hello, Love, Again” will continue to follow the journey of Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) — but this time in Canada.
“Hello, Love, Again” is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 13, 2024.
“Hello, Love, Goodbye” was the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time until January 2024, when it was surpassed by “Rewind.”
