Derek says sorry to Angelica over legal woes
ACTOR Derek Ramsay apologized on Thursday to former girlfriend Angelica Panganiban after the latter was dragged into his legal battles with his estranged wife, Mary Christine Jolly.
“I would like to apologize to Angel, her family and all her fans for what’s happening right now. I assure you hindi ko siya papabayaan,” the “Amazing Race Philippines” host said on Twitter.
Derek’s message came after Jolly filed concubinage charges against him and his ex-girlfriend.
On Wednesday, Jolly presented to the Paranaque Prosecutor’s Office a copy of Panganiban’s April 2013 Star Studio Magazine interview.
In the said tell-all, the Kapamilya actress recalled the reasons of her break-up with Ramsay. Angelica said Derek was a “controlling boyfriend,” failed to support her while she was looking for her biological father and the persistent rumors that he is married.
Jolly also cited Angelica’s interview as evidence that the two “cohabited” for almost five years in a house in Sucat, Paranaque while the actor is still married to her.
Meanwhile, amid the controversies linked to her name, the Kapamilya actress is still in high spirits based from her uploaded photo on Instagram wee hours of Thursday.
Angelica posted a photo of her and boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz in an unguarded snap and captioned it: “This is us happy. God be with you.”
Angelica and Derek broke-up in February 2012 after six years of romance.
She then started seeing John Lloyd months after the split while Derek had a brief relationship with close friend, Cristine Reyes. (Sunnex)
