CocoJul is an item, just how it was speculated years ago!

“Batang Quiapo” star Coco Martin confirmed that he is dating “Mara Clara” lead Julia Montes for 12 years already, putting an end to a long-running speculation of their once alleged relationship.

Coco has finally shut the rumor mill down as he admits his long-term love affair with once speculated lover Julia Montes at a watch party of ABS-CBN and GMA’s latest collaboration “Unbreak My Heart” on Wednesday, May 21, 2023.

Coco’s admittal has insinuated that their relationship dates back to 2011, when the 28-year-old Julia was only 16 years old. Coco, who would turn 42 this year, was 29 when he started dating the former.

As for the actor, it was a mutual agreement between them to keep their relationship lowkey. “Basta kami, hindi naman na kaming mga bata. Kung ano ‘yung nakikita at iniisip ng mga tao, ‘yun na ‘yun. Mas masarap ‘yung pakiramdam na pribado ang buhay namin, tahimik. Walang mga issue. Ito, masaya kami,” he adds.

Julia, on the other hand, emphasized their faith as the anchor of their relationship. She shares, “Kung ano po ‘yung posisyon namin, or narating namin ngayon, blessed kami. And never kasing nawala sa center si God so parang lahat ng nangyayaring good stuff, si God ang gumawa noon.”

In the past, Coco and Julia have been insistent in turning down rumors about their relationship. Similar to how Coco laid it out during the 2014 press conference of the ABS-CBN’s “Ikaw Lamang”, he mentioned that he acts more of a “kaibigan” if not “kuya” to Julia.

Just as much, Julia pointed out during the 2016 press conference of ABS-CBN’s “Doble Kara” that she wants to “focus” on her career first. She also emphasized that “hindi po babae ang dapat sasagot… At saka yun nga, busy pa po ako.

CocoJul’s brief history

In the past, Coco and Julia have been insistent in turning down rumors about their relationship. The speculation started in 2011 when rumors of Coco courting Julia broke across. The ensuing year saw them pairing up for ABS-CBN’s hit series “Walang Hanggan.”

Despite consistent gossip about the real deal, the two remained silent and even turned down the idea. Similar to how Coco laid it out during the 2014 press conference of ABS-CBN’s series “Ikaw Lamang”, he mentioned that he acts more of a “kaibigan” if not “kuya” to Julia.

2015 came just as controversial when the news had spread yet again that the two were in an illicit affair. However, rumors emerged in 2017 that the two had already called their relationship quits. Still, no confirmation was said on the matter.

After wrapping up “Asintado” in 2018, Julia flew to Germany where her father resides. However, her departure was hounded by a pregnancy rumor, which was later confirmed by showbiz insiders to PEP.ph that she already gave birth in 2019. However, Julia and her party remained mum over the issue.
