MANILA — After his exclusive network contract renewal with ABS-CBN, Daniel Padilla sat down with ABS-CBN News to talk about the projects lined up for him this year. One of them is a collaboration with OPM rock icon Ely Buendia.
“I’ll have something with Ely Buendia. May mga gagawin. Secret pa. Secret muna,” he teased.
Music will be one of Padilla’s core projects for 2024 and he’s also excited to return to the concert stage. But before this, he wants to come up with new music first that shows off his new sound and current vibe at the moment.
“Madali lang magput-up ng concert. New music muna!” he said.

As for the movies, Padilla confirmed that he will still do the buddy-comedy movie “Nang Mapagod si Kamatayan” with Zanjoe Marudo. Padilla candidly shared that he is really excited for this dark comedy movie because of its sharp script and storyline.
In addition, his movie with John Arcilla, “The Guest,” will still push through.
But during the contract signing, Maricel Soriano was one of the surprise personalities who gave congratulatory messages to Padilla.
Padilla confirmed that he and Soriano have talked about working on a project, but the Kapamilya actor said it’s still under development.
“I just want to do ‘yung mga movies na talagang sapul, sapul sa puso. It doesnt mean about love, I made too much movies about love. Let’s make something different,” he said.
His last movie was the critically acclaimed ‘Kun Maupay Man It Panahon’ with Charo Santos Concio and Rans Rifol.
